Are you a recent MFA graduate in search of a new writing group out in the real world? Do you want to explore your writing potential? Or, are you a writer simply looking for an out-of-the-box writing experience? If so, then this is the course for you.
Whether you are working in fiction or creative non-fiction; have taken fifteen workshops or none, we welcome you.
Instructor: The course will be taught by writer and multi-media artist, Vanessa Garcia. Garcia has taught Literary Journalism at the University of California Irvine; Introduction to Creative Writing at the University of Miami; Essay Writing for Johns Hopkins CTY program; and writing at Miami Dade College, among other institutions. She holds a BA from Barnard College, Columbia University in English and Art History; an MFA from the University of Miami in Fiction; an MA from the University of California in English; and is currently a PhD candidate at the University of California Irvine in English and Creative Nonfiction. She is a fulltime writer and journalist, who has written for the LA Times, the Miami Herald, the Huffington Post, and numerous other publications.
